Any questions on your side?

What is a sprint and when would I need an extra one?

This is what a week-long sprint looks like:

  • Start: You’ve upload documentation and are ready to get started
  • Process: We process all documents and give you direct feedback
  • Revise: You can upload extra information to answer our unresolved questions
  • End: At the end of the sprint, either the project is completed with a finalized report, or the project is automatically paused to give you the time to collect extra information at your own pace. A temporary, limited report is drawn up, which you can show to the authorities when necessary.

The first 4 sprints are included in our offer. We advise you to have these take place consecutively in a block of 4 weeks.

Our experience with other clients shows this is the most efficient way to get used to the challenging demands of cosmetics regulations.

Extra sprints can be added to the project at your own pace (normal rates apply), which gives you total control over the project.

This flexible approach gives you the chance to respond quickly to changes (for instance when a product formula needs to be amended, or the label needs a make-over).

The process makes it possible to, for example, pause a project after the first sprint, so you are able to amend the project in whatever way necessary.

Instead of committing yourself to a project for months or even years, you can move at the speed of light – which doesn’t just improve your go-to-market speed, but, more importantly: lets you serve your customers with the safest products, the fastest way possible.

When do I need a challenge test?

A microbial challenge test is done to test whether preservatives added to a product actually work. Preservatives are added to products that are perishable.

When do I need a stability test?

A product shouldn’t degrade quickly. Shelf life needs to be determined through a stability test.

This test needs to be done in the actual packaging, so that it’s clear the product will remain stable while on the shelves and in the bathroom cabinets of end consumers.

How does Safety-as-a-Service work?

After a product is launched, it may undergo frequent changes, for example based on feedback from consumers.

Or the cosmetic legislation changes, or new scientific insights arise that may affect the compliancy and safety of your product.

The Responsible Person is legally obliged to keep track of these changes and amend their products and dossiers accordingly.

With Safety-as-a-Service, SkinConsult updates all of these changes so your products and their dossiers are compliant once more. And if there is an upcoming change to the cosmetic legislation impacting your products, we’ll alert you + help you fix this preventively. So you can continue selling your product with zero downtime. Thát is what we call service.

What about compound products, like an eye shadow palette with 12 different colors?

We go about this pragmatically. We make a separate report for each of the colors in the palette, so authorities can look into these easily.

Because a lot of the information for the color palettes is identical – such as certain raw materials – we’re able to reuse a lot of data.

You won’t pay 12x for a file like this. We’ll charge for 1 file, with a small additional price per color. The notification in the CPNP can also be limited to 1 (somewhat more elaborate) notification.

How about product variations? I have a basic recipe to which I want to add colors and scents in order to create an entire product line

Cool to see you’ve worked out how to bring an entire portfolio of products to market!

Every product variant is legally seen as a unique product, and needs its own notification in the CPNP.

We’ll also need to redo a bunch of tests like the shelf life test.

Still, there is a lot of space for efficiency and reusing information. We’d love to think along as to how you want to bring this product line to market, and can offer you a tailor-made quote for this.

What is I have a lot of products? Will you be able to handle that?

The more products you have, the more efficient both you and us can get to work!

For instance, you can have all your labels made in one go by a designer, and we can bundle a lot of information on things like raw materials and packaging materials. Basically, it’s a win-win. For these types of projects we’ll come up with a custom quote.

Unable to handle all products simultaneously, because you’re working with seasonal products, for instance? We can also determine a fixed price per product, so you can let us do our work in phases.
